In 1972 Mr. Fox started drilling wells in Oklahoma with capital raised from private investors. The company had a high success rate and was able to continue its exploration activities for a long period of time. Production from the wells has continued for much of the past 41 years.

Within a few years of the company's formation, Mr. Fox recognized the tremendous opportunity present for drilling contractors because of the boom in domestic oil exploration and founded Fox Drilling Company.

Initially, the company drilled wells in Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas. As the company added more rigs, the drilling area increased to include Louisiana and Texas. The deepest rigs had a depth capability of 30,000’ and were assembled in its Oklahoma City yard.

In support of its fleet of rigs, the company had thousands of employees involved in every aspect of running rigs and managing the company. The exploration division had hundreds of employees including geologists, geophysicists, engineers and landmen.

Mr. Fox is an entrepreneur with 41 years of experience in starting and operating companies in a wide array of industries. Mr. Fox has had successful forays into contract oil drilling and exploration, real estate development and aviation.

Mr. Fox operated his own corporate jet which was utilized extensively for his oil drilling operations. Mr. Fox employed three full-time pilots due to the heavy usage of the aircraft. Later this became the start of Fox Aviation.
