Duties and Responsibilities

MY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
· Control all operations performed under his supervision ensuring they are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
· Responsible for ensuring the Floormen and Derrickman are correctly deployed for ongoing and upcoming operations, and that they are familiar with the equipment in use and its safe operation.
· Execute instructions from the Driller and Toolpusher.
· Ensure the drilling operation is carried out as defined in the approved Operator's Instructions and Drilling Programme, and the operation is executed in accordance with Stena's Drilling Operation Manual and RSWMs.
· Responsible for ensuring the Drilling Crew perform Planned Maintenance on drilling equipment thoroughly and timely, and that it is recorded on the PM sheets.
· Carry out daily checks to include ensuring the choke manifold is properly lined up for the current operation.
· Carry out derrick inspections and Dropped Object Checks thoroughly and timely, document the results and ensure any anomalies are reported and rectified.
· Responsible for ensuring good housekeeping in all the drilling areas.
· Complete sections of Daily Drilling Reports as directed by the Driller.
· Calculate and record drilling line ton miles. Complete casing check lists.
· Maintain an accurate pipe tally.
· Maintain an accurate and complete record of all equipment which enters the well.
· Update the pre-kick sheet. Health & Safety;
· Actively promote the STOP system and the PTW system - ensure full participation by the Drilling Crew in both.
· Ensure Drilling Operations under his supervision do not contradict Stena's H S &E Policies and Procedures.
· Responsible for participation in and commitment to Stena Drilling's Dropped Object Procedure.
· Review and update Risk Assessments with crew on a regular basis and ensure appropriate Risk Assessment is reviewed prior to the commencement of each task. Update Risk Assessments and Rig Specific Work Methods and Procedures following task completion where lessons learned can positively affect future similar operations.
· Promote Stena's 'Golden Rules' and the installation's 'House Rules'
· Ensure the Drilling Crew are familiar with and conform to the requirements of COSHH regulations.
· Must be fully committed to preventing damage to the environment.
· Ensure the Drilling Crew are familiar with and adhere to Stena's Environmental Policy. Keep the Driller informed of all matters of significance within the Drilling Department.
· Consult with the Driller and Toolpusher regarding the progress of the Drilling Operation in order to ensure effective pre-planning.
· Participate in Pre-Tour Safety Meetings.
· Attend Pre-Job Safety Meetings incorporating the relevant Risk Assessment for the specific task.
· Participate in weekly safety meetings with the Drilling Crew.
· Complete a documented shift handover in line with Stena Drilling's Handover / Reporting Procedure.
· Ensure drilling related safety alerts are communicated to drilling crews and actioned if required.

· Control all operations performed under his supervision ensuring they are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
· Responsible for ensuring the Floormen and Derrickman are correctly deployed for ongoing and upcoming operations, and that they are familiar with the equipment in use and its safe operation.
· Execute instructions from the Driller and Toolpusher.
· Ensure the drilling operation is carried out as defined in the approved Operator's Instructions and Drilling Programme, and the operation is executed in accordance with Stena's Drilling Operation Manual and RSWMs.
· Responsible for ensuring the Drilling Crew perform Planned Maintenance on drilling equipment thoroughly and timely, and that it is recorded on the PM sheets.
· Carry out daily checks to include ensuring the choke manifold is properly lined up for the current operation.
· Carry out derrick inspections and Dropped Object Checks thoroughly and timely, document the results and ensure any anomalies are reported and rectified.
· Responsible for ensuring good housekeeping in all the drilling areas.
· Complete sections of Daily Drilling Reports as directed by the Driller.
· Calculate and record drilling line ton miles. Complete casing check lists.
· Maintain an accurate pipe tally.
· Maintain an accurate and complete record of all equipment which enters the well.
· Update the pre-kick sheet. Health & Safety;
· Actively promote the STOP system and the PTW system - ensure full participation by the Drilling Crew in both.
· Ensure Drilling Operations under his supervision do not contradict Stena's H S &E Policies and Procedures.
· Responsible for participation in and commitment to Stena Drilling's Dropped Object Procedure.
· Review and update Risk Assessments with crew on a regular basis and ensure appropriate Risk Assessment is reviewed prior to the commencement of each task. Update Risk Assessments and Rig Specific Work Methods and Procedures following task completion where lessons learned can positively affect future similar operations.
· Promote Stena's 'Golden Rules' and the installation's 'House Rules'
· Ensure the Drilling Crew are familiar with and conform to the requirements of COSHH regulations.
· Must be fully committed to preventing damage to the environment.
· Ensure the Drilling Crew are familiar with and adhere to Stena's Environmental Policy. Keep the Driller informed of all matters of significance within the Drilling Department.
· Consult with the Driller and Toolpusher regarding the progress of the Drilling Operation in order to ensure effective pre-planning.
· Participate in Pre-Tour Safety Meetings.
· Attend Pre-Job Safety Meetings incorporating the relevant Risk Assessment for the specific task.
· Participate in weekly safety meetings with the Drilling Crew.
· Complete a documented shift handover in line with Stena Drilling's Handover / Reporting Procedure.
· Ensure drilling related safety alerts are communicated to drilling crews and actioned if required.
· Keep informed of the contents of the Operator's Instructions and the Drilling Programme.
· Ensure the appropriate barriers are in place and the relative announcement made on the PA system prior to the commencement of critical operations.
· Notify the Driller and Toolpusher prior to the commencement of any man riding operations.
· Inform 3rd Party Representatives prior to handling or operating their equipment.
